Buffington Helps Provide a Christmas to be Remembered for the local Boys and Girls Club

Boys and Girls Clubs across eastern North America have regularly benefited from the Carmeuse Foundation, and this Christmas the employees at the Carmeuse Buffington Operation have once again supported the cause.

Buffington employees donated $1,500 in support of bringing cheer to children in need this Christmas. Each child was chosen by the local Boys and Girls Club, and each received presents from Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

Helpful elves were formed by volunteers including Matt Gower—Area Operations Manager, Carmeuse Western Operations, Letha Carriger—Human Resources, Amy Reinders—Sr. Human Resources Manager, and the Valparaiso High School Football team. There were many other volunteers assisting the day that saw more than 500 children receiving gifts, enjoying pizza and writing thank you notes. Gifts included new coats, clothes, shoes, and some toys that were on their ‘Wish List.’

Carmeuse is most grateful to Jessica Jenkins, Human Resources at Carmeuse for helping to coordinate the company’s help and support in this cause.

In addition to employee donations, Matt Gower presented a foundation check from Carmeuse for $6,000 to the Boys and Girls Club to continue supporting the children in need throughout the upcoming year.

Pictured in the photograph with Mr. and Mrs. Clause are Matt Gower, Letha Carriger, and Amy Reinders.
