Buffington Operation partnered with the local Gary Boys & Girls Club to host a unique "Career Speed Dating" event. This event provided a creative way for young teenagers to gain insights about Carmeuse and explore potential career paths by engaging one-on-one with Carmeuse staff members.
About fifteen students had the opportunity to visit the Carmeuse office and meet with employees. They ensured that each student had a meaningful interaction and were paired with one staff member at a time, allowing them seven minutes to ask questions before moving on to the next staff member after a bell rang. This collective effort made the event truly exceptional for these students.
Everyone’s presence and insights played a significant role in making this event successful. It was filled with excitement, shared information, and an amazing experience, all thanks to the time and effort of the staff and the attendees. We deeply appreciate the commitment to such initiatives that make a positive impact on our community.
