Carmeuse Annville donates limes to Lebanon Area Fair
More than 50,000 attendees headed to the Lebanon Area Fair Grounds July 22-29 for the annual Lebanon Area Fair. Held since 1957, the event celebrates local agriculture and talents alongside great food, carnival rides, and live music.
For the past few years, the Carmeuse Annville Operation, PA, has donated the lime needed by the fair, where it is used as a drying and disinfectant in the livestock pens and various other applications. “The Lebanon Area Fair has been showcasing the best of our region for 66 years. We are proud to support this premier event by donating the lime they need to keep their livestock areas clean and healthy,” said Jonathan Price of Carmeuse Annville.
The finest livestock in Lebanon County are shown at the fair including poultry, rabbits, beef and dairy cattle, hogs, sheep, goats, and horses. The majority of the stock are entered by school-aged children enrolled in the 4-H youth development program and Future Farmers of America (FFA) projects.
