Carmeuse Drummond donates cleaning and learning supplies to local schools
Carmeuse Drummond Island, Michigan, is supporting its local students with donations of cleaning and learning supplies to the DeTour Arts and Technology Academy and Drummond Island Elementary School. The supplies included sanitizing wipes, coloring books and folders.
“The schools send home folders each Friday for parents to view their kids work,” explained Tracy Reichlin of Carmeuse Drummond Island, who coordinated the donation. “We were pleased to be able to give 100 of these ‘Friday Folders’ to each school. We were also able to supply 30 copies of the ‘What is a Mine?’ coloring books, which help younger students learn about mining.”
The school donations were valued at $950.00. The Drummond Island Operation has a strong track record of supporting local causes. In July, it donated $1500.00 to the local fire and rescue service for the purchase of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Drummond Island personnel also regularly give time to support the Bay Cliff Health Camp for children with disabilities.
