Carmeuse Dundas helps ensure every child wakes up with joy this Christmas
Carmeuse Dundas is helping to bring the magic of Christmas to children of low-income families in Hamilton, Ontario, through the donation of toys to CityKidz. The toys provide gifts for children who may otherwise wake up to an empty tree on Christmas Day.
The focus for this year’s toy donation was gifts for ages 10 to 12, the age group that traditionally receives fewest donations. “We are proud to supports CityKidz’s mission to increase resiliency and inspire BIG dreams for Canadian children living in low-income communities,” said Dundas’s Sylvia Alvarez who organized the toy drive with Kerry Moffat.
In 2021, CityKidz distributed 7662 toys to children in Hamilton, up from 4879 in 2020. As more families feel the pinch and Christmas becomes a time of tension, toy donations are a way to ensure every child feels special—and every family feels the joy of Christmas.
CityKidz expressed their thanks for the support Dundas provides: “Toy donations like yours are what enabled us to find the perfect gift for every one of our CiryKidz children. Thank you so much for opening your hearts by helping us bring faith, hope, and love into the homes of vulnerable children this Christmas.”
