Carmeuse Employees get ‘Bizzy’ in volunteering for Junior Achievement’s ‘BizTown’
Always aiming to support the youth of the community, employees from Carmeuse Pittsburgh offices volunteered their time to help organize and guide 180 students from the Elizabeth Forward School district in Western Pennsylvania during two days of field trips at a local JA BizTown.
The JA BizTown is a dynamic simulation of real-world business experiences to supplement students in-class education. Elementary level students get hands-on experience at managing banks, restaurants, health care, technology, communications and more. The business experience of operating banks, managing business, writing checks and voting for a town mayor entailed about 4-5 hours.
To help during two days of the 4-5 hour field trips was Carmeuse volunteers: Erin Anderson, Joe Andrie, Tim Beck, Nicholas Bonarrigo, Eric Dzuba, Mackenzie Farone-Waite, Hannah Prieto Fica, Denise Hutchison, Catherine Lemley, Hector Linares, Bryn Lucki, Lindsay Marhefka, Rebecca McCusker, Reuben Moniaga, Victoria Neff, Tony Pallotta, Zach Richardson, Leslie Stoffel, Patrick Dongmo Tsague, and Amanda Zaluski
