Carmeuse Longview continues its support of local youth mentoring

Carmeuse Longview, AL, is proud to renew its partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Shelby County in 2023. BBBS provides mentoring between adult volunteers and children of ages 6 through 18 with the aim of supporting every young person to achieve their full potential.

BBBS of Shelby County will again be partnered with Carmeuse Longview in 2023, continuing the relationship from this year. The annual contribution of $8,000 allows BBBS of Shelby County to cover the cost of its annual fundraiser, Big Night on the Farm, so all proceeds go directly to servicing the children.

“We were privileged to be the presenting sponsor of Big Night on the Farm in 2022. Nearly $25,000 was raised from the event, all of which went to help BBBS of Shelby County provide services to 200 Big-Little matches,” said Sybil Owens of Carmeuse Longview, who recently presented the Community Partner check to Brooke McKinley of BBBS of Shelby County.

“2023 looks to provide more growth opportunities as BBBS of Shelby County expands its service area to include youth in neighboring Chilton County through their school-based youth mentoring program. Carmeuse is so excited to be a partner with such a wonderful group,” concluded Owens.
