Carmeuse Luttrell Supports Attendance Awareness Month

As kids and young people head back to school after the summer break, September celebrates Attendance Awareness Month to promote the value of good attendance. In Union County, Tennessee, this means the return of the Fall Semester Attendance Awareness Giveaway supported by the Carmeuse Luttrell Operation.

The giveaway aims to incentivize attendance by giving elementary (K-Grade 5) and middle school (Grades 6-8) students the chance of winning a new bicycle at the end of the semester, while high school students (Grades 9-12) have the chance of winning a pair of Apple AirPods. All students who meet attendance criteria are automatically entered into the prize draw at Christmas. 

“We are thrilled to kick of our Attendance Awareness celebrations with the announcement that Carmeuse have once again graciously donated a bicycle for each of the elementary schools + the middle school and a pair of Apple AirPods for the high school. Amazing!” wrote the Union County Public Schools Attendance and Support team on Facebook. 

“We are delighted to continue our support for the Attendance Awareness Giveaway,” said Kristin Zimmer of Carmeuse Luttrell. “Addressing chronic absence not only gives young people a better chance of success in adult life; we all prosper when students gain the skills and abilities to contribute to our communities.”

The giveaway will run again the Spring semester with prizes again provided by the Luttrell Operation.
