Carmeuse Strasburg joins Boys & Girls Clubs of SWVA to uncover The Magic Within
Boys & Girls Clubs of America exists to bridge the gap between school and home, running quality afterschool and summer programs for kids aged 6-18 years—without the barrier of cost. Every workday, the organization provides an average of 389 young people a safe place to learn, have fun, and be themselves.
Carmeuse Strasburg has long supported this work as a sponsor of the local Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia. The company’s John Loan and Ashley Johnson recently had the privilege of attending the launch of the organization’s latest initiative, The Magic Within podcast, at its 3rd annual Power of Moments Experience.
“The event was truly magical! We were blown away by the talent of this group and cannot wait to go again,” said Loan.
Episode 1 focuses on the themes of upward mobility and opportunity with special guests, Delegate Sam Rasoul, club mentor Chloe Johnson, Virginia Tech football player and club alumnus, Pheldarius Payne, club CEO Rebekah Meadows—and of course, the club kids.
The club recognized the contribution of Carmeuse and its other community partners in a Facebook post. “Your commitment to our cause is inspiring and your contribution is making a difference in the lives of our young members. Thank you, sponsors!”
