Check from Carmeuse Beachville presented to the Sakura House
In June, employees at Carmeuse Beachville took to the golf course in aid of the Sakura House hospice in Oxford County, Ontario. The annual golf day raised $220 from employee donations, which were matched dollar-for-dollar by Carmeuse for a total donation of $440. This July, the check was presented to representatives at the Sakura House.
Sakura House has provided 24/7 palliative end-of-life care since 2009. Part of VON Canada, the hospice aims to provide the feel and comfort of home for those in the twilight of their lives, celebrating life and providing a safe place where families can gather to share memories and create new ones.
“Sakura House is a special place for many of our employees and for those in our wider community. We are proud to continue providing support for this special organization. Thank you to all employees who participated in the putting and chipping contest. This donation would not have been possible without you!” said Beachville’s Marnie Lance.
