The Carmeuse Grand River operation donated stone fines and assisted in contractor communications as part of a project to create a walkway in Grand River’s Merrick Hutchinson Park. The park improvement efforts were made possible by Carmeuse’s Brian Horvath, Bob Hay, Dwayne Knee and Harry Harris.
The concrete walkway, which creates a quarter mile loop through the park, was created by a joint effort of donations from Carmeuse and Osborne Concrete.
The project was part of the phased Grand River Village project that started in 2018, which includes the development of a park with a basketball court, soccer and baseball fields and other amenities. In addition to donating time and materials for this project, the Carmeuse team helped to coordinate the installation process with contractors.
“Carmeuse emphasizes the importance of supporting local communities. We hope the renovations to Merrick Hutchinson Park will be long lasting and will promote healthy habits in the Grand River community,” said Brian Horvath of Carmeuse.
