Congressman Dave Joyce (representing the 14th District of Ohio) and District Outreach Representative Katie Berger visited the Grand River facility on August 19 to gain a better understanding of Carmeuse’ North American and global operations. The Congressmen reached out to Carmeuse to request the visit so he can get to know his constituents and better understand the needs of the businesses within his district.
Carmeuse Site Operations Manager Brian Horvath presented the highlights of the Grand River operation, including the Company and site’s dedication to zero injury, sustainability and the industries that Carmeuse serves. Brian also presented the Corporate Carmeuse video, the Grand River 2018 sustainability video and the 2019 Grand River safety video to further demonstrate our commitment to safety, community relations and business model. Lastly, a discussion on business environment and the impact on the lime industry followed.
“It was nice to spend time with Congressman Joyce to educate him about Carmeuse and also to hear about the initiatives that are most important to him,” said Horvath. “He was extremely impressed with our operation and the dedication of all our employees.”
