Festive fun fills Main Street as Huron celebrates the holidays

Huron Winter Fest on Main Street brought seasonal cheer to the city with holiday activities, food trucks, pop-up shops, a spectacular fireworks show and visits from some well-known faces.

The opening parade was led by the Grinch. Children of all ages also enjoyed meeting Disney’s Elsa and Anna and Marvel’s Captain America, while a horse drawn carriage pulled by two Percherons, Tony Baloney and Mr. Samson, provided free rides around the festival. Santa and Mrs. Claus took time out of their busy schedule to visit with festival-goers. Christine Mollison, Carmeuse Huron Site Coordinator, and her granddaughter, Evelyn, shared their Christmas wishes with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Carmeuse Huron Operation again sponsored the festivities with a $250.00 donation toward the running of the event. This continuing support was appreciated by the organizers at the Huron Parks & Recreation Department, who thanked the company for the sponsorship. “Thank you for the Winter Fest Sponsorship! As always, we appreciate the support from Carmeuse Americas,” said Jennifer Kilbury of Huron Parks & Recreation.
