Longview employees take aim at providing cure for Cystic Fibrosis

On October 7, 2022, Carmeuse Longview sponsored the Alabama Branch of Cystic Fibrosis' annual Shoot for the Cure.

Longview has been a Chuckwagon level donor of Shoot for the Cure for the past several years. As part of our sponsorship, we are allotted two teams to shoot at clay targets. Forming the two teams were six Longview employees.

According to Sybil Owens, Human Resources at Longview, “This is a great event to support Cystic Fibrosis and our team members really enjoy participating in the event.”

In a letter addressed to Sybil Owens and the Longview employees, Elaine Owen Jones, Senior Director of Development, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Alabama Chapter, wrote, “Thank you for Carmeuse Lime & Stone’s Sponsorship of Shoot for a Cure!  With your support, it has grown into a much anticipated annual event that benefits participants in the construction and mining industries, and helps fund life saving research at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Trikafta was approved in late 2019, and represents the most transformative therapeutic advance in the history of CF. We have a pipeline of therapeutics and a pathway to a cure for CF, thanks to events like Shoot and supporters like Carmeuse.
We deeply appreciate your support of Shoot for a Cure, and hope you will mark your calendar for Oct. 6, 2023.  Thank you for helping us toward our goal of making CF stand for Cure Found.”
