Maple Grove and Grand River respond with donations for relief during a local crisis
The well-known crisis of derailed trains carrying toxic chemicals in East Palestine Ohio, igniting large fires and setting off fears about potential explosions, greatly impacted the communities in that area.
Under the duress of profound concern for the their environment and for their personal health, the residents received an outpouring of support and donations from neighboring communities.
Carmeuse Maple Grove and Grand River Operations in Ohio, rallied together under the lead of Mark Szymanowski. Mark, a member of the Warrior Brotherhood Motorcycle Club, formed a team from the two Ohio operations to collect and deliver several pallets of bottled water to the communities. The pallets of water were delivered to a local fire house in Negley, Ohio. From the fire house the water was distributed to many in need.
The Warrior Brotherhood Motorcycle Club is a nonprofit group whose mission is veterans from any branch of service helping other veterans, and always helping citizens in local communities.
Recognizing the positive effect of this deed, Vickie Kent, Human Resources for Carmeuse in the Ohio Region, expressed, “A huge thank you to Mark, the other members of The Warrior Brotherhood club, and other Maple Grove and Grand River employees who helped organize this donation project!”
