Carmeuse assures children in the Ingersoll, Ontario area will enjoy daily recess breaks.
For young children at the Lawrie Hawkins Public School in Ingersoll, Ontario, a large sandbox can be an enjoyable way to take a recess break from classroom studies. Contributions from the Carmeuse Beachville Operation has helped provide a fashionable sandbox sanctuary for students at Lawrie Hawkins.
In June, Beachville donated Armour stone and coordinated the creation of a beautiful sandbox that students will regularly use throughout each day. Along with their classroom studies, the large sandbox provides play-based learning as they enjoy each other’s friendship.
Ken Zegers, Maintenance Manager at Beachville worked closely with contractor Paul Browns to bring this activity to fruition.
As Ken summarized, “Our team at Beachville traditionally donates an outdoor classroom each year to a local school in the area. We are pleased to have partnered with Lawrie Hawkins Public School this year!”
