Carmeuse Beachville golfs to Supports Local Hospice Services
A broken golf shoe. A little rain. A lot of wind. All in the aid of a good cause. The Carmeuse Beachville golf tournament wrapped-up for this year, raising money for local residential hospice services in Oxford County, ON.
“Our chipping and putting contest raised a total of $440 for the Sakura House hospice. Thank you to everyone who participated for this great cause and who made this such a great day,” said Breanne Perkins, Human Resources at Carmeuse Beachville.
Operated by the Victorian Order of Nurses since 2009, Sakura House in Woodstock, ON, is the county’s only residential hospice. It provides 24-hour end-of-life palliative care in a safe and comfortable environment to about 200 patients each year. Care is provided free to patients and their families, thanks to funding from donors and local fundraising efforts, and an army of about 200 active volunteers.
“The services and support Sakura House offer in our local community bring light to families at what can be a very dark time. It’s been a privilege to support this important work over the last few years, and we look forward to putting our golf skills to good use again next year,” continued Breanne.
