Carmeuse Black River shows gratitude for local nurses
May is National Nurses Month—an opportunity to celebrate and show gratitude for all the amazing work nurses do. Showing its appreciation, the Carmeuse Black River Operation gave boxed lunches and flowers to three local healthcare organizations that support Black River workers and the local community in Maysville, KY:
- Eye Care Network
- Primary Plus Occupational Health
- Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation
“We use Eye Care Network for any eye-related incidents that occur onsite; they are amazing at getting us right in and taking care of our employees. Primary Plus takes care of all our occupational health needs, while Maysville Nursing & Rehabilitation is a local nursing home that provides care to so many families in the community,” said Becky Walker of Carmeuse Black River, part of the team that coordinated the gifts, alongside Harriet Blythe, Mikayla Whisman, Terry Highfield and Ben Cox.
“The nursing staff at these organizations work tirelessly, day in, day out,” continued Becky. “We were happy to show a small token of our appreciation for all that they do for us and for our community.”
