Carmeuse brings the bang to Huron River Fest 2022
A spectacular fireworks show provided one of the highlights of this year’s Huron River Fest. Supported by a $1000.00 donation from the Carmeuse Huron Operation, the display provided a glittering end to the first day of the three-day festival, and set up two more days of live entertainment, a parade, food, rides and games. The weather was fantastic, and the crowds really came out to celebrate the summer tradition.
The festival is also the stage for the Huron River Fest 5K, part of the Huron 5K race series. As in previous years, Carmeuse Huron sponsored the series, providing bottled water and snacks for participants and helpers. This year, the Huron River Fest 5K raised funds to support the Huron High School Cross Country and Track Teams, and Young Life of Erie County.
Christine Mollison was among the competitors, placing 2nd for her age group. Grandkids, Maggie and William, were once again along for the ride in their double stroller, after also accompanying Christine in the season opener, the Liberating Hope 5K.
“I find a lot of satisfaction in being able to link Carmeuse to the Huron community. We have been making an impact in supporting many local projects and needs,” concluded Mollison.
