Carmeuse Chatsworth helps kids grow with donation to Boys & Girls Club

Carmeuse Chatsworth helps kids grow with donation to Boys & Girls Club

The Boys & Girls Club serving Chattooga, Gordon, Murray and Whitfield Counties in Georgia has a mission: it believes all young people, no matter their background, should be supported to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible members of the community.

But achieving this is a challenge. Georgia has elevated rates of food insecurity, high school dropout and teen pregnancy compared to the national average. The four counties served by the Boys & Girls Club include some of the most under-served communities in the state. The harsh fact is that many young people here simply do not have the resources or role models they need to chart course to a brighter future.

Which is where the Boys & Girls Club—and Carmeuse—come in. Thanks in part to an annual donation from the Carmeuse Foundation, the club opens its doors every day, at seven locations, to nearly 2100 kids and teens. Here, these young people are provided a safe, positive and engaging environment that supports and guides them on their journey.

“Thank you, Carmeuse! We from the Boys & Girls Club really appreciate this and so do the youth,” said Kim Stafford, club representative on receipt of this year’s donation.
