Carmeuse Chatsworth prize-winning Christmas Parade float honors veterans
The Carmeuse Chatsworth operations, GA, is a steadfast supporter of veterans—and they’re proud of it. From raising a new flag pole at the plant in October to participating in the City of Chatsworth’s annual Veterans Day Parade in November and decorating a community Christmas Tree in military colours in December, the plant has shown its appreciation for the men and women who risk—and have lost—their lives serving their country.
This continued with the operation’s float in the community Christmas Parade, when again the theme chosen by Chatsworth employees was support for the military who sacrifice so much at this time of year, spending the holiday season away from families and loved ones, so we can have peace. The float—and its message—was the star of the parade, taking an award for Most Outstanding Float.
“There was a lot of long hours of hard work from the team members and their families to prepare the float,” said Shae Garland of Carmeuse. “A special thanks go to Danielle Tant, the wife of our Area Health and Safety Manager, David Tant, for her hard work and dedication to the community and to Carmeuse. Not to be outdone by his wife, however, David also put a lot of his spare time into this event. The community loved the float.”
Also giving their time and effort to make the float such a success was Kenney Alderman, Joey Weaver, Elaine Elder, Chris Rich, David Amos, Jason McGill, Sharon Fetzer, Eric Lofty, Brandon Tant, and Chris Cabaniss.
