Carmeuse Chatsworth team members lend a hand to help local animal shelter
Dogs might be a man’s best friend, but we sometimes let our animal amigos down. For unwanted and abandoned pets in Murray County, GA, help is at hand from the folks at the Murray County Animal Shelter a dedicated team never put a healthy animal down. To do their good work, they needed assistance clearing out and organizing a storage trailer that is an essential part of their operation.
Four volunteers from the local Carmeuse Chatsworth Operation stepped in to help. Jake Carnes, Bill Peek, Shae Garland and Joey Weaver spent about 12 hours hauling trash, (four truck loads, in fact), putting in shelves and hanging lights to create a clean, tidy, and user-friendly storage area.
“HUGE shoutout and THANK YOU to everyone at CARMEUSE that built the shelves and put lights in for us. They also hauled off a TON of stuff that had accumulated over 2 decades or so,” the animal shelter said in a Facebook post.
“Still lots of work to do but we are well on our way to a great storage area.”
