Carmeuse employee donations help feed the families of children in hospital
When you have a child in hospital, you want to be able to spend as much time as possible with them, without worrying about anything else. But for many in this situation, it can be a challenge to feed themselves and their other children while they are visiting their loved one. Hospitals provide food for their patients. Families and other visitors must look out for themselves.
It was this realization that led Joni D’Alessandro to start Christopher’s Kitchen back 2010 to make food available in hospitals for the families of sick children. It’s important work that means one less thing for families to worry about, allowing them to focus on what really matters—supporting their child through ill health.
It’s also work the employees at Carmeuse are proud to support. “The work Christopher’s Kitchen does to fill a pantry for parents and families of sick children is amazing,” said Denise Hutchison, Training Manager at Carmeuse North America. “We were so pleased to be able to support them with donations of food and a monetary donation of $1,250."
