Carmeuse employees give time to support Bay Cliff Health Camp
Bay Cliff Health Camp has been serving the therapy and wellness needs of individuals living with disabilities since its first summer camp back in 1934. In that time, the not-for-profit organization has helped over 12,000 children. Every summer, approximately 200 children between the ages of three and 17 stay at the camp for seven weeks.
As a not-for-profit organization, however, Bay Cliff relies heavily on donations and volunteers to make necessary repairs to building and grounds. Which is where employees from the Carmeuse Port Inland, Cedarville and Drummond Island Operations helped make a difference. Workers from the three sites joined forces for a two-day work bee on June 16-17 to serve the campground and improve the facilities for those who come to stay.
Thanks to these Carmeuse workers and many other volunteers like them, Bay Cliff continues to support those with special needs to enjoy their childhood and the traditional activities of childhood – riding a bike and playing games in the fresh air – as well as teaching them to take care of themselves and live fuller lives.
