Carmeuse Foundation supports Ohio youth mentoring organization

Carmeuse Foundation supports Ohio youth mentoring organization

The Carmeuse Foundation is continuing its sponsorship of the Torchlight Youth Mentoring Alliance of Painesville, OH, through 2022. Operations Manager at the Carmeuse Grand River, Brian Horvath, presented the annual Carmeuse Foundation sponsorship check to Tia Lawrence, Interim Executive Director and Director of Programs at Torchlight, at the end of last year.

The check will help Torchlight continue its mission to support young people in reaching their full potential through mentoring and educational programs. It represents the latest in a long-running relationship between the charity and the local Carmeuse plant, which last year also included sponsorship of the 40th annual Light Up the Lanes Bowl-A-Thon fundraiser.

Torchlight’s work perfectly embodies the aims of the Carmeuse Foundation, explained Vickie Kent, Human Resources Manager for the Ohio Region at Carmeuse.

“We firmly believe that children and young people respond to positive role models and benefit from strong communities. We are proud to support organizations across North America that share that belief through the provision of educational, training and mentoring programs for those who otherwise may not have access to such opportunities,” Kent said.
