Carmeuse joins Pittsburgh Earth Day as corporate sponsor

At Carmeuse, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously. We are also proud to call Pittsburgh, PA, home. Put these two together and we’re excited to continue our sponsorship of Pittsburgh Earth Day in 2022. In doing so, we join an impressive community of local businesses in supporting the event. 

After the downturn of its steel industry in the early 1980s, Pittsburgh has seen huge transformation and now ranks among the cities best positioned to deal with today’s environmental challenges. A focus on sustainability and resiliency has gone hand in hand with remarkable economic growth, and Pennsylvania’s Steel City now consistently ranks as one of the most livable in the country. 

Pittsburgh Earth Day is a citywide festival that showcases all things green and sustainable in the region. Building on a legacy of local Earth Day celebrations that goes back to the 1970s, the event began in 2021 and features a growing mix of virtual and on-site events that—true to its motto, Earth Day, Every Day®—run throughout the year. 

This year’s Pittsburgh Earth Day events include the annual Ecolution Eco-Fashion Show, the Sustainable Business Breakfast and Go Green at Market Square—a free community event with activities for all ages. Pittsburgh Earth Day also published the bimonthly The Green Voice newsletter, and monthly The Dirt podcast.
