Carmeuse Longview spreads the spirit of Christmas

Carmeuse Longview spreads the spirit of Christmas

The Carmeuse Longview Operation, AL, loves to give—at least according to quarry truck driver, Reggie Brown. “It’s the big kid in me that loves to see a smile on a kid’s face on Christmas,” he told local newspaper, the Shelby County Reporter, after participating in a toy drive held by the plant on 13 December 2021, in aid of Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Shelby County.

A long-time supporter of BBBS, Carmeuse is the sole sponsor of the toy drive, said Brooke McKinely, BBBS of Shelby County director of marketing and public relations. “This toy drive is the latest act of kindness they’ve put together for us. Many children would not have Christmas without Carmeuse leading this program,” McKinely continued.

Carmeuse Longview was not the only operation to bring the light of Christmas to disadvantaged young people this year. In fact, it’s something of a tradition with fellow Carmeuse operations at River Rouge in Michigan and Dundas in Ontario also supporting local charities in providing gifts for those that might otherwise have received nothing.
