Carmeuse River Rouge steps up to make sure no kids go without a Christmas

Carmeuse River Rouge steps up to make sure no kids go without a Christmas

The festive season is upon us. But for disadvantaged children and their families, it can be a time of worry and distress. It might not feel like Christmas at all. In River Rouge, MI, however, the town has come together for the past seven years to ensure that no child goes through this experience.

The No Kids without a Christmas program provides the children of River Rouge with gifts they might not otherwise have received. The Carmeuse River Rouge Operation participated with a donation of $1500.

“All of us at River Rouge are delighted that we could be part of something so special,” said River Rouge plant generalist, Christy Burt.

“The pandemic made last year’s holidays different from all others,” Burt continued. “Even though we continue to struggle through it, any chance to bring a smile to a child’s face, to remind them how special the holidays are, is something to be proud of.”
