Carmeuse VP, Sales & Marketing named to AISI Board

Phil Piggott of Carmeuse has been elected to the American Iron and Steel Institute’s (AISI) Board of Directors. A 22-year veteran of the company, Phil is currently Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Carmeuse. He also chairs the AISI Associate Member Committee and will represent AISI’s associate members on the AISI Board. 

The announcement took place at the AISI Board of Director’s meeting at the AISI 2021 General Meeting, held jointly with the Steel Manufacturers Association, in Washington DC. 

“It’s an honor to be elected to the AISI Board,” said Piggott. “I’m excited to serve the institute and represent the associate members at this important time for our industry.”

A native of Canada, Piggott has served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Carmeuse Americas since 2019. A member of the executive management team, he is also Executive Director of Carmeuse subsidiary and specialist in bulk materials storage and transfer equipment, STT. 

AISI advocates for the American steel industry in the public policy arena and in the marketplace, advancing the case for steel as the material of choice in a wide range of industries. The institute also plays a leading role in the development and application of new steels and steelmaking technology. 

AISI membership comprises integrated and EAF steelmakers, while its more than seventy associate members support the industry as suppliers or customers.
