Carmeuse Winchester continues its support of Clear Brook Volunteer Fire and Rescue
The Carmeuse Winchester Operation continues to develop its partnership with the neighboring Clear Brook Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. The plant recently donated building and other materials to support the fire department in its duty to protect and serve the local Clear Brook community.
The department is currently constructing an expansion project to double the size of its fire hall. Carmeuse has donated 325 tons of stone for the site. In addition, the Winchester Operation gave two stone certificates for the raffle at the department’s annual fundraiser and yard party, and a length of used conveyor belt. This was used by the fire department to make a custom mud flap for the back of their fire engine.
"We're glad to be a part of their expansion project and happy to support them any way we can. We're fortunate to have a Fire and Rescue as a next-door neighbor,” said Logan Thompson, Winchester Site Operations Manager.
Established in 1947, Clear Brook Volunteer Fire and Rescue provides fire and emergency medical services to a 66 square mile area with a population of over 11,000.
