Dundas Operation Donates to Flamborough Food Bank
On May 11, Carmeuse’s Dundas operation held a fundraiser for the Flamborough Food Bank in Hamilton, Ontario. Together, the Dundas employees raised $950, and Carmeuse donated an additional amount to make the total donation $2,850. The donation was made in support of the food bank’s mission to provide supplementary food and access to support programs for local families in a dignified and respectful manner.
The Flamborough Food Bank serves 175 families, many that have little or no income, are on disability, are single parents, or are isolated seniors or employed people struggling with the rising cost of living. Dundas’ donation will directly support these families during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing food and personal care items that they might not otherwise have.
“The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented event that we all are facing,” said Jim Leamen, Managing Director of Flamborough Food Bank. “Thank you to the employees of Carmeuse Lime and Stone for standing with us and for being a part of our team. We are so grateful for your support.”
