Huron joins the Friends of the Huron Public Library

Huron joins the Friends of the Huron Public Library

The Carmeuse Huron Operation sponsors local library services as a Business Member of the Friends of the Huron Public Library. Business Members are an important contributor to the work of the Friends, who support library staff and provide a program of events and materials to the community.

According to Christine Mollison of Carmeuse, "The Huron Public Library is a cornerstone of the community. The Friends of the Huron Public Library provide support to the Library staff and offer programming and materials to our community. Some of the Friends of the Huron Public Library's activities include operating the Book Nook, hosting sales of older books, DVDs and audiobooks, contributing to the summer Learning Program and organizing quarterly concerts featuring local musicians."

The Huron Public Library opened in 1933 and provides the city of Huron and surrounding area with free access to a wide variety of information, while encouraging the intellectual and cultural life in its local community.
