Huron Operation Donates Memorial Bench to Huron Parks Foundation
On October 16, Carmeuse’s Huron operation donated a memorial bench to the Huron Parks Foundation Fund. The bench was placed along the Huron River Walkway for visitors to enjoy a rest, watch boats travel down the river, listen to live music at the park and enjoy the natural surroundings.
The Huron Parks Foundation focuses on funding specific projects that support educational programs and public events. The Carmeuse Huron operation can be seen from the walkway, making it a fitting location for the donated bench.
“The lime plant has been a part of the history of Huron since the mid-1960s,” said Christine Mollison, Site Coordinator. “We wanted to dedicate a bench as a long-lasting landmark acknowledging the importance of the plant to the economy of Huron and the agriculture industry in Ohio.”
