Kentucky employees provide time and skills to restore summer camp

Camp Discovery, in the Maysville, Kentucky area host a well-known summer day camp program for up to one hundred fifty campers age 5 through 12. 

As is often the case with outdoor venues, time and the elements take their toll leaving deteriorated conditions. Through its Foundation Program, Carmeuse has partnered with Camp Discovery over the years. Early in the spring, Carmeuse employees from its two Kentucky Operations, Maysville and Black River, joined forces to provide volunteer hours and skills restoring the grounds and amenities at the camp. 

The team of volunteers repaired picnic tables and a playground area, and provided weed control and cleaned-up the grounds. 

With these efforts, Camp Discovery is now in great shape as it prepares to bring in local youth during their summer vacation over an eight-to-ten-week period.
