River Rouge Donates School Essentials

River Rouge Donates School Essentials

As students in River Rouge began the 2020-2021 school year remotely, Carmeuse’s River Rouge operation donated needed supplies and technology to the River Rouge STEM Academy. Carmeuse has partnered with the STEM Academy on various projects to support local students pursuing education and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The River Rouge operation donated graphing calculators, Chromebooks and cleaning supplies to the Academy to be delivered to families in need while students learn at home.

“Thousands of Michiganders are still without work due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Donna Degree-Gordon, Plant Generalist. “Some of those families reside in River Rouge, and many do not have the required tools for school at home. We wanted to help by providing supplies and technologies to students as they learn from home this fall.”
