Second River Rouge Tot Lot gets the Carmeuse clean-up treatment

Second River Rouge Tot Lot gets the Carmeuse clean-up treatment

After cleaning up the Division Street Tot Lot back in June 2021, it was the turn of the Cora Street Park to receive attention from employees of the Carmeuse River Rouge Operation, MI. Volunteers gathered on 19th August to pick up trash, pull weeds around the park equipment, and put down brand new mulch.

“Everyone had a great time working together to clean and brighten up the park,” said Cristy Burt, Plant Generalist at River Rouge, who coordinated this year’s park clean-ups. “We enjoy the opportunity to make our community a better place for everyone who lives and works there, and we look forward to our park clean-up days every year.”

Alongside Cristy in giving of their time and effort on the day were Jeremy Luellen, Chad Wright, Doug Owens, Bob Kuntzman, Karl Goreta, Randy Balding and Nicholas Vasquez. River Rouge Plant Superintendent, Jacob Baith, coordinated delivery of materials, and Reza Eizadkhah, Site Operations Manager, helped coordinate scheduling.

The clean-up days are organized in collaboration with the City of River Rouge Mayor’s Office.
