Description:
Fusite is a granular dolomite refractory material made of both magnesium oxide and calcium oxide. Fusite is ‘twice-burned’ with mill scale added on the second burn to coat the product. This process ensures that the products provides high resistance to heat to protect refractory and repair linings.
Benefits:
- Optimize refractory performance
- Extend the life of your refractory
- Increased productivity and output
- Dust control

FUSITE Production
Fusite is dolomitic refractory material that is mined specifically in Dundas, Ontario.
Carmeuse quarries and sizes raw materials to exact specifications to be calcined in the kiln. Fusite can be blended with additional refractory grade materials for use in refractory repair in the furnace. The use of Fusite for this application is ideal for traditional and advanced guniting technologies. As a practice Fusite can be oiled for added dust control.
Available with or without oil coating. Custom bagging available including “Super Sacks.”

Uses for Fusite
Fusite is blended with additional refractory grade materials and used for heat protection and repair of the refractory through a process called “Guniting”. Guniting is a process used for the hot repair of the refractory lining which get damaged during the operation of the furnace. It is an important process which is frequently used for enhancing the refractory lining life of the furnace. Sometimes it is also called shotcreting. This process has grown into an important and widely used technique for the maintenance of refractory lining.
