The "Field is my Work" program is an innovative initiative that seeks to provide high school students with technical training and internship opportunities. Developed through a partnership between Kimtaş (Carmeuse Turkey), Genç Başarı Eğitim Vakfı - Junior Achievement Türkiye, and the Turkish National Education Directorate, the program is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the workforce.
During the first phase, 80 students from Soma Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi received online training on Presentation techniques, Effective Written and Verbal Communication, Innovation, as well as Design Thinking.
The second phase, taking place end of March, will consist of a five-day technical training session in Kimtaş (Carmeuse Turkey). 20 students will be selected through interviews: they will learn about Health and Safety, Sustainability, Career Development, Automation Systems as well as Lime production.
Finally in May, 5 of them will be selected via an exam and get a 1-month internship at a plant.
