Hygiene on small or intensive farms is a key element in preventing unexpected losses due to disease and epidemics. Cleaning and disinfection should be carried out with the least aggressive products possible, thus avoiding certain accidents.
OPTILIT® is especially useful in cases of:
- Mastitis, which can easily cause significant milk loss and/or delay the lactation period.
- Hoof infections: dermatitis can infect more than a third of your cattle, leading to livestock losses due to lameness.
- Digital dermatitis causes pain to your animals and losses to you.
- Parasites in the litter such as gall, biting lice, mealworms etc.
Carmeuse developed OPTILIT® to meet these needs:
- Reduction in the number of cases of mastitis.
- Drying of the litter.
- Savings on the quantities of straw used.
- Enrichment of manure with alkaline supplements.
- Weaning newborn pigs in a quick, healthy and gentle way, to keep them in the best condition.
Dosage per week for each animal category:
- Pigs: 20-100 g/m2 once or twice a week; apply daily for the first 7 days after population
- Bovines: 500 g/m2 spread in a thin layer on bedding
- Poultry: 100-200 g/m2; can be increased by a further 100-300 g/m2 if necessary
- Ovine: 200 g/m2 spray on bedding
- Horses: 200-300 g/m2 spray on bedding
- Small animals: 100 g/m2 spray on bedding

What is OPTILIT® good for?
OPTILIT® improves hygiene conditions, reduces unpleasant odours, absorbs moisture, helps prevent and control infections and diseases, and neutralizes the acidity of feces.
In which animal breeds can OPTILIT® be used?
It is used both for small ones - day-old chicks, rabbits, etc. (Optilit® 0.5 kg) and for large ones (pigs, birds, cattle, goats, sheep, horses). All these animals need a clean, healthy and natural environment and Optilit® in different doses is the solution.
In what packaging is OPTILIT® available?
OPTILIT® is available in 0.5 kg and 25 kg packages.
What are the storage conditions for OPTILIT®?
Store in the original packaging in a dry place free from moisture. Protect from frost. Stable under recommended conditions. Contact with air and moisture should be limited. It can be used for up to 1 year after shipment.
How to use OPTILIT®?
Spread in a thin layer on rubber mats or concrete surfaces. In permanent litter sheds, the product should be mixed with straw or spread in a thin layer of straw. After use, the product mixed with animal feces and spread on fields can be used as a fertilizer and soil conditioner. Recommended quantities may vary depending on the age, quantity and time of feeding of livestock. Please contact our specialists.
