Special quicklime is used in aerated autoclaved concrete (AAC) mixes, in order to maximize the efficiency of each factory. It foams after reacting with ingredients to form tobermorite, resulting in an insulating low-carbon solution for masonry construction.

Lime putty is mainly used for mortar and plaster applications. Quicklime, when aged in water pounds for several weeks, results in a product with a better rheology and workability.

Quicklime for calcium silicate masonry units

Calcium Silicate Masonry Units are produced by mixing lime, sand, and water in a batch process, where the lime must react immediately with the quicklime to develop some early ‘green’ strength before entering the autoclave.
