We are proud to share with you that our Safety VR training, developed by Carmeuse Turkey, won the ILA Health & Safety Award in the category of Technology. Traditionally, training sessions held in a meeting room have limited effectiveness as it is not always easy to make the link with a practical situation in the field. Our objective was to develop an innovative training method for site staff to allow them to confront risky situations without taking any risks.
The Safety VR training program sets participants in motion, captures their attention, and enables them to safely “learn by doing” in a virtual environment. The system helps workers to quickly identify risks during their work, and take the proper steps to avoid hazards in their day-to-day. In an effort to make the experience even more realistic, the environment is an exact reproduction of existing installations and recorded sounds of the factory are broadcast into the headphones.
We would like to congratulate our future-thinking colleagues in Carmeuse Turkey, and also thank our partner in this project, who showed us the possibilities offered by such a tool and helped us develop the first module.
