As part of the Carmeuse Foundation and #JA partnership, Serbia selected two programs: Business Challenge and Students’ Companies. The Competitions are organized by Junior Achievement Serbia, with the financial assistance of the USAID, NCR Foundation, UniCredit Bank, the Metropolitan University, Nestlé and Carmeuse. Its goal: boost the high school students to use their skills in an innovative way, to improve their entrepreneurial spirit and employability.
The Business Challenge competition gathered more than 100 students from 26 high schools, who created business plans for their ideas on how to help the youth maintain their focus while studying. They were supported by the business mentors, like our colleague Dragojla Vukojičić and afterwards presented their product/service in a 3-minute pitch before the members of the jury (thanks Katarina Todorovic) and the audience.
The competition in Belgrade, gathered more than 105 students from 31 high schools: they designed a product or a service to reduce the noise pollution in big cities. Our colleague Jadranka Ninic Radovic was mentoring the team who won the 1st place. The winning team, as well as the two runners-ups of each competition will participate to the National Finals which will be held in February, while the winners of the National Finals will participate in the West Balkans Business Challenge that gathers high school students from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia.
Congratulations to all the participants and thank you to the Carmeuse volunteers!
