Calcium carbonate is a naturally occurring compound and is most commonly extracted by selective open pit mining, where it undergoes purification by washing, drying, grinding and screening. Special milling equipment makes it possible to obtain calcium carbonate with an extremely fine particle size and quality standards of micron or millimeter particle size.
